Hickory Ridge Resident Overcomes COVID
October 15, 2021
At Hickory Ridge, our residents are our top priority. Getting to hear about their experience here allows us to ensure that we are providing the absolute best care possible for our residents.
John M. overcame a tremendous battle with COVID over the past year. He has been a resident of Hickory Ridge for several years. In December of 2020, John tested positive for COVID and was sent out to the hospital and then to an LTAC. After spending weeks on a ventilator, John was on a High-Flow for months. Staff called to check on John weekly and the nurses all said he was a joy to work with but that all he wanted was to come home to Hickory Ridge. John returned to Hickory Ridge in May of 2021 on hospice. John worked hard with therapy to keep his body limber and to keep his lungs clear in order to continue healing.
"I really missed the staff and my friends at Hickory Ridge. Everyone greeted me when I returned and it has been marvelous to be back. The nurses and STNA… I just can't say enough great things about them. I really missed it at Hickory Ridge as they are my family. I am very happy with my care and would recommend it to all!"
Today, John is not on hospice nor oxygen therapy. We are so proud of John's progress in recovery! He has remained strong throughout his battle with COVID and always has his family here at Hickory Ridge for support. We are so happy to have you back, John!
