This week, we’re thrilled to celebrate our extraordinary Activity Team—the heart and soul of so many memorable moments in our facility. From bingo nights to water fights, from karaoke sessions to art projects, this team goes above and beyond to make every day special for our residents. Let’s meet the shining stars who bring joy, creativity, and connection to Hickory Ridge!
Molly, who just celebrated her 4-year anniversary in October, loves how Hickory feels like one big family. Known for her water fights, dancing, and ability to make everyone laugh, Molly’s energy is infectious. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family, binge-watching shows, or shopping. Residents and staff adore Molly for her big smile, cheerful attitude, and best-in-class dance moves!

Marla is approaching her 5-year anniversary this March and cherishes the family atmosphere at Hickory. Her favorite activities with residents are playing Yahtzee and bingo. Outside of work, you’ll find her shopping, gardening, or enjoying time with loved ones. Described as kind-hearted, patient, and caring, Marla ensures no one feels left out and always brings positivity to her role.
Jessiah recently celebrated her 1-year milestone with Hickory. She loves getting to know the residents and spending quality time with them, especially during karaoke sessions! When she’s not at work, Jessiah enjoys making TikToks, playing video games, or being with family. Residents appreciate her humor, kindness, and her knack for making the best coffee!
Pam, who marked 5 years at Hickory in September, loves building relationships with residents during her drives to appointments. She shines during bingo games and loves singing and dancing along with entertainers. Pam’s humor, attentiveness, and friendly nature make her beloved by all—one resident even exclaimed, “GOD I LOVE HER!”
Nate, a newer member of the team with 4 months under his belt, values Hickory’s teamwork and positivity. He loves hosting live entertainment and celebrations, as well as leading tabletop adventure games for residents. Known as the “best bingo caller” and a great listener, Nate brings fresh energy to the team and connects effortlessly with residents.
Salma, who’s been with Hickory for 2.5 years, balances her work with her studies at Ohio University. She loves seeing residents’ talents shine during arts and crafts and describes Hickory as a second family. Known for her sweet, peaceful demeanor, Salma is a warm presence who always greets everyone with a smile.
When we asked residents and staff to describe our activities team, the responses were nothing short of heartwarming: “The sunshine to our day.” “A breath of fresh air.” “A wholesome, wonderful, kind, compassionate, caring team.” Activities at our nursing home are about so much more than passing time—they’re about fostering connection, creativity, and a sense of belonging. From laughter-filled bingo games to meaningful art projects, our team brings joy and purpose to each day. We’re so proud of this incredible group and all the love they pour into their work.
