Therapy Success Story - Thomas

We are humbled to share a therapy success story from one of our residents, Thomas Kessel! When Thomas arrived, he faced significant physical challenges that extended to cognitive issues, rendering him unable to walk or engage in conversations. However, with efforts in Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies, Thomas has undergone a transformative journey.



Thomas acknowledges the skill and genuine care of our Therapy Team, sharing, "They definitely have my best interest at heart. Gena has been my regular nurse on my unit and she is as good as it gets. She is the best nurse ever!" At Hickory Ridge, each team member is committed to a Culture of Care where we truly connect with our residents and act more like a family to them than handling it as just a job.

"I am finally walking without a walker. I am still being careful and have some work to do before my discharge, but overall I appreciate everyone’s efforts on the road to my recovery," expressed, Thomas. His progress is a reflection of the collaborative efforts and personalized care provided by our Therapy Department, reinforcing our commitment to empowering individuals on their path to recovery.
